Charles II (1660-1685), Crown, 1665 XVII, second laureate and draped bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to harp, lettered edge downwards, 29.93g, 6h (Bull 365 [R3]; ESC 31; Pywell-Phillips 9; Spink 3355), small edge bumps at 11 and 2 o'clock and sporadic flecking, otherwise toned, good fine / near very fine, a key date, rare in this honest higher grade, the year of the Great Plague.
