George II (1727-1760), 'Roses and Plumes' Crown, 1735 OCTAVO, young laureate and draped bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, irregularly spaced lettered edge upwards, 30.00g, 6h (Bull 1663; ESC 120; S.3686), an unfortunate split and flan flaw at 12 o'clock, and tooling on cheek and drapery, further haymarking before face, and a trace of cleaning with subtle retoning, very fine, the struck details of reverse perhaps bolder.
