The Persian Gulf Rupees issued by the Reserve Bank of India circulated in the late 1950s through the 1970s, or until independent states in the region began issuing their own currencies. Bahrain founded its Currency Board and issued its first series of notes in 1964. The handsome green 10 Dinars is the highest denomination of the series and it is an incredibly popular type, especially in Uncirculated grade. For years, the blue 5 Dinars was the undisputed king note of the 1964 series, but the 10 Dinars has in recent years become equally important and desirable. A terrific example and rare in this Gem designated grade.
