Probus (276-282). BI Antoninianus, Rome mint. Obv. Helmeted, radiate and cuirassed bust left, holding spear and shield. Rev. Roma seated facing, holding Victory and sceptre, within hexastyle temple; beneath, R*Γ. RIC V 186. BI. 4.28 g. 23.00 mm. An outstanding example, from a masterly engraved and perfectly detailed obverse die. Lovely glossy light brown patina. EF.
