ANGLO-GALLIC. Eleanor of Aquitaine. 1189-1204. AR Denier (17mm, 0.90 g, 12h). Bordeaux mint. Two crosses; inverted omega above, unbarred alpha below / Cross pattée. AGC 9B, 1/a; Elias 11; SCBC 8011. Toned, light scuff on reverse. VF.

Duplessey gives this issue to the time of Guillaume X on the strength of the Saucats hoard, containing 749 deniers of this type, along with 5 of the first type of Louis VII. As no issues of the two intervening kings, Henry II or Richard I, were found in the hoard, this type may be more properly dated to the early 12th century during the time of Guillaume X.
