REGINA., conjoined, laureate and draped busts right, rev. FORTES. RADII. SED. BENIGNI. 1685, radiant sun, 50mm, 37.09g (MI 610/16; Eimer -; vL. -; Foley -), some rub to high points, otherwise trace porosity under darkened surfaces, a bolder very fine, very rare.
This was struck in the first year of the reign of James II and probably very early, before the "Bloody Assize" of Jeffreys and Kirk.
