Anne (1702-1714), Pre-Union, Guinea, 1702, first draped bust, rev. crowned shields cruciform, emblem adorned sceptres in angles, rose at centre, small pellet above crown, six strings to harps, 8.03g, 7h (Murdoch II, 845; Douglas-Morris 4; King -; Schneider II, 525; MCE 209; Farey 460; EGC 458; Spink 3562), flattening to milling in parts and burnishing to fields suggestive of past mounting, additional scrapes flanking sceptre in second quarter, otherwise a bolder fine, the seminal date of issue, rare in any grade.
