Lithuania Payment Token ( 18-19th century) for one Working day in the Estate of Count Plater. (The native originated in the Broel area of ​​Switzerland and Westphalia (Germany); where in 1180. the first-mentioned Humpertus von dem Broel genannt Plaeter (Broel; nicknamed Plater) is considered the ancestor of all Plater. The Pliaterians came to Lithuania via Livonia. Representatives of this family settled in Livonia in the 13th century. Their great-grandfather was the Knight of the Livonian Order Herebold Plater (von dem Broele gennant Plater). One of the Pliater in 1292. was the marshal of Livonia; his son was the commander of Dinaburg (Daugavpils); the owner of Liksna manor. When Livonia became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania; Henrik Pliater was a member of the Livonian delegation; and his brother Vilimas (Vilhelmas) Pliater participated in the wars of Sigismund Augustus and Stephen Bathory with Moscow. Many Pliaterians who served in the Lithuanian army received land for their service and settled in Lithuania. Seven of them in 1695–1795. were Lithuanian senators; several representatives of the Seimas of the Republic of the Two Nations. They had manors in Eastern Lithuania and Samogitia.
