Virtually as struck with great details and full original silvering. A magnifiscent coin, one of the highlights of this specialized Probus collection!
Provenance: ex Philippe Gysen collection = Ex Numismatica Ars Classica 5/B (1992), lot 2214
Wspaniały okołomenniczy egzemplarz ze świetnymi detalami, pełnym srebrzeniem.
Bardzo rzadka odmiana legendy z tytułem PERPETVO. Probus był jedynym cesarzem rzymskim używającym tego tytułu, gdzie jedynie zbliżoną tytulaturę dictator perpetuo stosował Juliusz Cezar w 44 r.p.n.e. Jedna z największych ozdób oferowanej kolekcji.
Jeden z czterech znanych egzemplarzy. Moneta pochodząca ze znamienitej kolekcji P. Gysen'a.
Awers: popiersie militarne cesarza, trzymającego włócznię i tarczę, w lewo, w otoku legenda:
PERPETVO IMP PROBO AVG;

VIRTVS PROBI AVG, w odcinku KAB;
