SICILY, Selinos, Didrachm, c. 455-440, naked Herakles running right, with club raised in his right hand, grabbing the Cretan bull by the horn as it leaps right, rev. Hypsas, holding olive branch in his left hand, and pouring a libation from phiale over serpent-entwined altar in his right, selinon leaf and heron on right, ηυψασ, 8.59g (SNG ANS 703; SNG Lockett 863; BMC 34-37; McClean 2580). Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die and with light surface deposits, otherwise very fine, lightly toned £600-£800
