SICILY, Akragas. Circa 415-406 BC. AV 2 Litrai – Tetradrachm (11mm, 1.30 g, 11h). Silanos, magistrate. Eagle standing right, snake clasped in its talons, on rock outcropping; AKPA above, two pellets (mark of value) on rocks / Crab; below, ΣIΛA/NOΣ in two lines (boustrophedon). Westermark, Coinage 1015.11 (O4/R6) = Morgan 10 (this coin); HGC 2, 75 var. (obv. type left); SNG Fizwilliam 916 (same dies); McClean 2040 (same dies); Rizzo pl. III, 8 (same dies). Toned, trace deposits and a few scratches on reverse, edge marks. Near EF. Very rare with obverse type right; only one die pair known to Westermark.
