SICILY, Syracuse. Second Democracy. 466-405 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 17.36 g, 11h). Struck circa 466-460 BC. Charioteer driving quadriga right; above, Nike flying left, crowning charioteer; in exergue, ketos left / Head of Arethousa right, wearing pearl tainia; four dolphins around. Boehringer Series XIIIb, 434 (V232/R310); HGC 2, 1310; Boston MFA 360 = Warren 316 (same obv. die); Nanteuil 331 (same dies). Iridescent tone, indications of undertype on reverse. VF. Well centered.
