Brazil (struck in Lisbon), 4000 reis, Maria I and Pedro III, 1779, encapsulated NGC MS 62, tied for second finest known in NGC census. Russo-455; KM-210. Excellent strike and lovely luster, and somewhat rare as one of only two coins listed in the current NGC census of gradable specimens. Pedigreed to the New England Collection.
