Lima, Peru, cob 1 escudo, 1718M, encapsulated NGC XF 45, Tauler Plate Coin. S-L28; KM-35 ;CT-452. Continuing the introduction of dots and other ornaments in 1716, this coin shows teardrops flanking the cross above the castle (four on each side), an arrangement that lasted into the 1720s. The castle, mintmark, assayer and date (doubled) are all full, just slightly off-center, while the cross on the other side is well-centered and full, with toning in crevices.
