Tatius was the hero of the religious sect called Sodales Titii. The historian Tacitus observed two different traditions, the first being that Tatius attempted to preserve the Sabine cult in Rome; or by Romulus in honor of Tatius, at whose grave yearly sacrifices were made. The popularity of the Sodales Titii diminished by the end of the Republic, but was revived by Augustus and Claudius. It remained active until the end of the second century A.D.
