Constantinople mint, ca. 1028-1034. + ЄMMANOVHΛ, nimbate bust of Christ facing, square in each limb of cross; wearing pallium and collobium and holding book of Gospels; / IS - XS / bAS - ILЄ / bAS - ILЄ , legend in three lines divided by limbs of cross with dot at each extremity on three-stepped base . SBCV 1823; DOC pp. 676-9. VF for type , apparently overstruck on anonymous Class A3 follis of the time of Constantine VIII & Basil II, SBC 1818.
