Alexius III Angelus-Comnenus. 1195-1203. BI aspron trachy (23.3 mm, 2.76 g, 1 h). Constantinople mint.. Bust of Christ facing, nimbate, wearing pallium and colobium and raising right hand in benediction; in left hand, a scroll / Alexius on left, and St. Constantine on right and nimbate, both bearded, standing facing, holding between them globus cruciger in inner hand; each wears a crown, divitsion and loros and holds labarum in outer hand. Cf. SBCV 2011-2013. VF for type, retoning from an old "enthusiastic" cleaning; obverse shows multiple strikes garbling devices; reverse quite decent.
