Decoration 1918-1948. Commemorative Medal of 33rd Infantry Regiment "Doss Alto"
Its origin is somewhat mysterious and its history not fully mapped. It is the most expensive medal and therefore perhaps the rarest from a collector's point of view. The medal was established in 1948. We do not know exactly who organised this event and when, but it is believed that a committee was formed to provide information, addresses and essentials for the later distribution of the medal. It is likely that this "collecting" activity was unacceptable to the state security forces, and so this medal did not reach the Italian Legionnaires, or it did, but only in a few pieces. This piece was awarded and the medal includes the enclosed decree. In the battle of Doss Alto 7 Czechoslovak legionaries died, 31 were wounded and 4 fell into Austrian captivity and were later hanged in Arco. The Austrians had 51 dead, 90 wounded and 60 captured. The Czechoslovak Legionnaires used to say "Ten of theirs for every one of ours." At the top of Doss Alto, they proved that they meant it.

Die Entstehung ist etwas mysteriös und ihre Geschichte ist nicht vollständig aufgenommen. Es handelt sich um die teuerste Medaille und daher aus Sammlersicht vielleicht die seltenste. Die Medaille wurde 1948 gegründet. Man weiß nicht genau, wann und wer diese Veranstaltung organisierte, aber es wird vermutet, dass ein Komitee eingerichtet wurde, um Informationen, Adressen und wesentliche Erforderlichkeiten für die spätere Verteilung der Medaille bereitzustellen. Wahrscheinlich war diese "Sammler"-Tätigkeit der Staatssicherheit nicht zumutbar, so dass diese Medaille nicht unter die italienischen Legionäre gelangte, bzw. sie gelangte, aber nur in wenigen Stücken.Dieses Stück wurde verliehen und Teil der Medaille ist auch das beigefügte Dekret. In der Schlacht bei Doss Alto starben 7 tschechoslowakische Legionäre, 31 wurden verletzt und 4 gerieten in österreichische Gefangenschaft und wurden später in Arco gehängt. Die Österreicher hatten 51 Tote, 90 Verletzte und 60 Gefangene. Die tschechoslowakischen Legionäre vertraten das Motto: „Für jeden von uns zehn von ihnen". Am Berggipfel des Doss Alto zeigten sie, dass sie es ernst meinten.

Vyznamenání 1918-1948. Pamětní medaile 33. pěšího pluku "Doss Alto"
Vznik je poněkud tajemný a jeho historie ne zcela zmapovaná. Jde o nejdražší medaili a tedy ze sběratelského hlediska snad nejvzácnější. Medaile byla založena v roce 1948. Nevíme přesně, kdy a kdo organizoval tuto akci, ale předpokládá se, že byl vytvořen výbor, který měl za úkol zajistit informace, adresy a podstatné náležitosti pro pozdější rozdělování medaile. Je pravděpodobné, že právě tato „sběratelská" činnost byla nepřijatelné pro složky státní bezpečnosti, a tak se tato medaile mezi italské legionáře nedostala, případně dostala, ale jen v několika kusech. Tento kus byl udělen a součástí medaile je i přiložený dekret. V bitvě u Doss Alto zemřelo 7 československých legionářů, 31 jich bylo zraněných a 4 padli do rakouského zajetí a později byli v Arcu oběšeni. Rakušané měli 51 mrtvých, 90 zraněných a 60 zajatých. Českoslovenští legionáři razili heslo: „Za každého našeho deset jejich." Na vrcholku Doss Alto ukázali, že to mysleli vážně.
