Danish West Indies National Bank of the Danish West Indies 10 Francs 1905 Pick 18a PMG Very Fine 30 EPQ. A higher denomination example of the short lived series. The Danes transferred control of the islands to the United States in 1917 for then $25 million dollars, out of concerns the islands might be seized by the Germans during World War I. This iconic Caribbean and Colonial type features a portrait of King Christian IX. Of the 11 examples of this denomination graded in the PMG Population Report, this is the only granted EPQ status. All denominations from this series are scarce, but as the face value increases, so does the rarity.
