Portuguese Guinea Banco Nacional Ultramarino, Guine 5 Mil Reis 1.3.1909 Pick 3A PMG Extremely Fine 40. This example is leaps and bounds better than typical for this design, across all Portuguese Colonies that used this Vasco de Gama series. At the time of cataloging, this is the first and only example graded in the PMG Population Report. Of note, this is the second of two variations for this denomination, which can be distinguished by the red seal at front as well as the serial number. This note features the second red seal type, of which 90,000 notes were printed and issued, sometime in or around 1920.
