Danzig Bank of Danzig 50 Gulden 5.2.1937 Pick 65 PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. A highly desirable 50 Gulden from the 1937 issue for this free city state. Danzig was annexed by Nazi Germany on September 1, 1939 on the first day of World War II in Europe. Reichsmark coins and notes then became legal tender alongside the gulden. There were two official exchange rates in effect depending upon the situation.
