Iraq Government of Iraq 1 Dinar 1.7.1931 Pick 3a PMG About Uncirculated 55. The first series of Iraqi Government notes were introduced in early 1932, replacing the Indian Rupee which circulated throughout the region previously. King Faisal I appeared on the front of all denominations. However, King Faisal suffered a fatal heart attack in 1933, and his son, Ghazi, replaced him on the next series of notes issued in 1934 and 1935. This handsome 1 Dinar features vivid colors, wide, clean margins, visible embossing, and only light circulation. The first of two possible signature variations is seen on this example: Young / Askari / Hornsby. Rare in any grade but quite impressive in this state. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/iraq-government-of-iraq-1-dinar-171931-pick-3a-pmg-about-uncirculated-55/a/4036-25581.s?type=DA-DMC-CoinArchivesCurrency-WorldPaperMoney-4036-04212022 HID08706262019 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
