Pakistan State Bank, Haj Pilgrim Issue 10 Rupees ND (1950) Pick R2s Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. An exceptionally well preserved Haj Pilgrim Issue, which is the sole finest graded of only four examples registered in the PMG Population Report. This example is the single second issue from 1951, which was authorized after the successful introduction of the 1950 100 Rupees in order to control the foreign exchange of Pakistan's currency for Muslims making the pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Printed by Thomas De La Rue, this note features the Shalimar Gardens in Lahore on front and the tombs near Thatta on back. Horizontal text of "For Haj Pilgrims from Pakistan" and "For Use in Saudi Arabia Only" is present on the front along with a red Specimen overprint. Seldom seen on the auction block and the first Specimen of this issue that we have handled. Highly desirable, especially in this Choice Uncirculated grade. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/pakistan-state-bank-haj-pilgrim-issue-10-rupees-nd-1950-pick-r2s-specimen-pmg-choice-uncirculated-64/a/4036-25693.s?type=DA-DMC-CoinArchivesCurrency-WorldPaperMoney-4036-04212022 HID08706262019 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
