The Zirids are a Sanhaja Berber dynasty whose capital, Qayrawan, is located in modern day Tunisia and is now known as Kairouan. This type shows a Sunnite legend, struck anonymously by al-Mu'izz Badis after the repudiation of Fatimid suzerainty.
