Septimius Severus Æ 31mm of Amasea, Pontus. Dated CY 208 = AD 205/6 (sic). AV K Λ CЄΠ CЄOV[HPO]C Π[ЄP C]ЄB, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust to right, seen from behind / CЄOY AN AIMAC (MAC ligate?, sic) [...], emperor on horseback to right, holding spear; CH (sic, date) below. Unpublished; cf. Savoca Silver 32, 206 (same obv. die, altar of Zeus Strateus rev. type). 16.19g, 31mm, 7h.

Very Fine; attractive green and red patina. Of the highest rarity; seemingly the only known example of the type, only attributable to Amasea due an obverse die link with another issue with a clear ethnic.
