GERMANY. Bavaria. Military Merit Order of St. Michael, lV Class Cross with Swords, ND (Instituted 1866).
41 X 50 mm excluding loop. Barac-189; Vernon-318; Werlich-471. Silver, enamel and gold. Eight pointed blue enamel cross with silver flames between the arms. Center medallion with crowned cipher of King Ludwig ll with a white band inscribed "MERENTI" around; Reverse: Similar except the cipher is replaced by a standing lion with the date 1866 in the surrounding band; crossed swords at the top, the reverse of one blade inscribed "GH 900". On a short length of incorrect blue and silver ribbon.ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
