Theodosius I. AD 379-395. Æ (14mm, 1.30 g, 12h). Aquileia mint. Struck AD 383-388. Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm frond; AQ. RIC IX 46b var. (mint mark); LRBC 1088 var. (same). Green-brown patina. VF. Very rare.
The mint marks recorded by RIC for this series are AQP and AQS, however, AQ, without an officina indicated, is known for Valentinian II (RIC 46a) in the same series, so it is unsurprising that a coin without an officina would be found of Theodosius I as well.
