Jülich-Berg. Wolfgang Wilhelm von Pfalz-Neuburg Klippe Taler 1639 VF35 NGC, Düsseldorf mint, KM-Unl., Dav-Unl., cf. Exter-226 (weight not given), von Schulthess-Rechberg Collection-4321 (for Double Taler), Noss-659 (this weight not listed). 26.98gm. Struck with medallic 1/4 Taler dies. A seemingly unpublished weight for this already very challenging one-year type, recorded by Noss only in the weights of 2, 1-1/2, and 1/2 Taler. Struck in commemoration of the new year, a survey of auction records has revealed only one other example. While clearly a well-circulated piece, the coin has retained ample detail throughout, allowing for a full appreciation of the iconic city view below the citation from Joshua 1:5 (Non vos deseram - "I will not forsake you"). Without a doubt an extraordinary series rarity.
