Great Britain
George II "Lima" Crown 1746 MS63 NGC, KM585.3, S-3689, ESC-1668. A captivating selection of this highly historical type, struck from silver captured from the Spanish by British Commodore George Anson and the crew of the flagship Centurion at Lima, Peru. Admirably toned to a deep slate gray and revealing underlying luster most evident in the outer registers of the reverse, the sharp preservation of the piece is self-evident in hand. No handling of consequence is noted, while sunset-golden undertones brighten the features throughout, producing an enviable degree of visual appeal.
