British India. Victoria gold Mohur 1841.-(c) MS63+ NGC, Calcutta mint, KM462.1, S&W-3.7. Type A obverse, Type I reverse. W.W. incuse on truncation, plain 4 (without serif). A glowing representative of this British colonial type, which seems to have only grown in popularity during recent years from already great heights of interest. This example is notable for not only its impressive and scarce choice condition, but further so for the addition of a "plus" in recognition of its top-quality for the grade by NGC. Fully struck, harvest-gold in color, and displaying a luxurious cartwheel effect when rotated in hand, it goes without saying that this highly collectible example will be met with fervent bidder interest. Only two MS64's certify finer at NGC, an impressive feat considering the presence of 260 examples of this variety in their census.
