British India. Victoria gold Proof Restrike 10 Rupees 1878-(b) PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC, Bombay mint, KM495, Prid-34, cf. S&W-6.20 (for Calcutta). Reeded edge with older bust of Victoria. Both visually and technically superior for the issue, with a stark cameo effect across gem surfaces resulting from the juxtaposition of satiny, frosted devices and deeply reflective fields. The open expanses appear jet-black when viewed head-on, revealing only the most minute hairlines, while no meaningful signs of handling are noted whatsoever.
