Mexico
Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1762 Mo-MM AU58 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM155, Cal-1981, Onza-744. A high-end example of the "rat-nose" bust type introduced for this date, centrally struck and displaying even rims bordering bright, sun-gold features. Gentle marks and friction align with the "just shy" of uncirculated grade, while the designs themselves appear very nearly full, embraced by a gracious degree of residual golden luster. Tied for the finest certified across both NGC and PCGS to date, as no examples have hitherto been seen uncirculated by the grading services.
