Groningen & Ommeland. Provincial Quadruple Piefort 28 Stuivers (Florijn) 1692 MS61 NGC, KM-P27, Delm-1120b (R4), PW-Go08.2, CNM-2.20.14. 40mm. 73.33gm. A very rare offering of a type, which we have never before seen in our history - a quadruple-weight Piefort 28 Stuivers of Groningen & Ommeland. The large dimensions of this Dutch rarity are instantly appreciable in hand, weighing in at a substantial 73.33 grams. This impact of its scale is complemented by a fully Mint State level of preservation that leaves sharp design features throughout the expansive obverse and reverse faces, with pure silver tone overlying glittering luster that sparkles across the open areas. Impressively for a coin of its age, no significant contact marks are noted, and only minute handling hairlines throughout the fields establish the grade designation. The sole example certified by NGC to date, and a true prize.
