George V Proof "Waitangi" Crown 1935 PR64 NGC, KM6, Dav-433, Remick-Y6. Mintage: 468. Struck to commemorate the Treaty of Waitangi, the accord signed in 1840 between representatives of Britain and Maori chiefs of the North Island of New Zealand. An immensely popular, scarce, and historical type, here seen with superb eye appeal to boot. Iridescent color graces decidedly glassy surfaces, which maintain underlying reflectivity and serve as a beautiful backdrop to designs that remain razor-sharp. The features themselves are coated in a serene layer of mint frost that appears nearly undisturbed by any post-strike handling, while gold, lilac, and metallic blue tones interweave throughout to impressive effect.
