Alexander I of Russia gold 25 Zlotych 1824-IB MS61 NGC, Warsaw mint, KM-C102a, Bit-817 (R2), HCz-3575 (R), Kop-2729 (R4), Gum-2528, Parchimowicz-1048c. Mintage: 612. An already highly elusive, low-mintage gold type in its own right which rapidly escalates in rarity when located in this fully Mint State status. Typically an issue that suffers from at least mild circulation if not outright post-mint damage, this specimen carries the impressive moniker of the joint-finest certified across both NGC and PCGS combined. Even brief examination from a distance reveals an unmistakably Prooflike flash from beneath scattered bagmarks, with the reverse double-headed eagle motif in particular appearing mildly frosty over its sculpted features. Struck from the same dies as the Karolkiewicz piece, with apparently no examples present in either the Soedermann, Goodman, or Sincona collections, and of the utmost desirability as such.
