Nicholas I platinum 6 Roubles 1831-CПБ AU53 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, KM-C178, Bit-57 (R2), Sev-603, Uzd-0369, Kaim-267. Mintage: 2,784. One of the few more attainable dates of this still very challenging platinum type, and the first representative we have offered since 2008. Showing just mild evidence of handling in line with the certification, the surfaces nonetheless show a considerable pearly backlight which washes evenly along the contours of the devices. Interestingly despite Willy Fuchs' extensive research into platinum coinage, he did not appear to have an example of this date in his collection.
