al-Nasir Ahmad bin Yahya gold Riyal (4 Sovereigns) AH 1378 (1958/1959) MS63 PCGS, San'a mint, KM-YG17.2, Fr-8, Kazan-722. Variety without incuse Arabic numeral. Struck from silver Ahmadi Riyal dies (cf. KM-Y17). The second-to-last year for this covetable largest Yemeni gold denomination, ranking very near the peak of the PCGS census with only a single MS64 currently finer. The surfaces show a typical plethora of raised die polish and die clashing, leaving hardly any space for evidence of handling--of which there is next to none--to accumulate.
