MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR drachm (19mm, 4.06 gm, 12h). NGC Choice MS 5/5 - 5/5. Posthumous issue of uncertain mint in western Asia Minor, ca. 323-280 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left on backless throne, right leg drawn back, feet suspended, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; bar/line in left field (possibly a mark in the die), ΘE below strut. Price 2781. Very rare - only two examples in sales archives. Cleanly struck on blazingly prooflike flan.
