Caracalla, as Augustus (AD 198-217). AV aureus (19mm, 7.29 gm, 5h). NGC Fine 5/5 - 1/5, damage. Rome, AD 213-217. ANTONINVS PIVS-AVG GERM, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Caracalla right, seen from behind / SECVRITATI PERPETVAE, Securitas enthroned right, resting head on right hand, scepter in left, altar at feet to right. RIC IV.I -, cf. 309A (laureate, cuirassed bust right, seen from front). Calicó -, cf. 2812 (same). Well struck on satiny flan. Flan is wavy, with marks and scuffs. Seemingly unpublished.
