Christian V gold Ducat ND (1685) AU58 NGC, Copenhagen mint, KM374.2, Schou-17, Hede-12A, Sieg-73.1. 3.41gm. Variety with baton pointed forward. A very enticing equestrian type, thought to have been minted in conjunction with the king's journey to Norway. By all indications very scarce, we have been able to locate just two other examples in auction records of the past two decades, all struck from the same die pair. Despite showing a later die state with more extensive deterioration to the obverse die, this coin remains wholly attractive and only very minimally handled.
