Harold I (1035-1040) Penny ND (Spring 1036-1038) MS61 NGC, London mint, Leofric as moneyer, Jewel Cross type, S-1163, N-802 (R). 0.86gm. +HΛRO | LD REX, diademed bust of Harold left / +LEOFRIC ON LVNDE, cross composed of four ovals united at their bases by two circles enclosing a pellet. One of a mere 7 Harold pennies of any mint or moneyer presently certified by NGC, and by far the nicest and best-struck that we have ever offered. Showing just a minor flan imperfection below the L of LVNDE, we would note that there is no obverse die match for this coin in the Early Medieval Corpus.
