Edward IV (2nd Reign, 1471-1483) gold Angel ND (1480-1483) UNC Details (Scratches) NGC, Tower mint, Heraldic Cinquefoil mm, S-2091, N-1626. 5.14gm. A visually sharp and engaging specimen of this hammered issue, centrally struck and displaying balanced detail across the central motifs and peripheral legends alike. Antique golden tone graces the surfaces to yield a sense of refined age, while subtle hints of deeper tone grip the devices to accentuating effect, highlighting their boldness and uncirculated quality. We note that while the assigned grade designation accurately addresses light scuffs and scratches across both faces, none of these appear particularly prominent in hand, blending quite well with the surrounding features to result in an appealing and highly collectible representative of this popular type.
