Hyderabad. Sikandar Jah gold Mohur AH 1236 Year 15 (1820/1821) MS64 NGC, Haidarabad mint, cf. KM-CA58 (listed as 1/4 Mohur; this coin). Struck in the name of Muhammad Akbar II. By all indications a highly rare type, represented in auction records of the last two decades by just two other examples--each in far inferior condition--and entirely undocumented on Zeno. Interestingly, while the Standard Catalog lists a Nazarana Mohur of this date under KM-C60a, this very coin is pictured under KM-CA58. Brilliantly lustrous and carefully struck, likely all that keep this piece shy of Gem Mint State are a few tiny scratches, which are of minimal visual consequence to the naked eye.
