British India. Victoria Proof Rupee 1893-B PR63 NGC, Bombay mint, KM492, S&W-6.137. A rare Proof emission of this full denomination type. The surfaces, lightly watery and producing unmistakable underlying reflectivity, have an appearance not totally unlike that of stained glass, featuring shades of lilac, rosy pink, and steel-blue. The exacting strike leaves nothing to be desired, with full clarity achieved to even the highest points, while the condition overall is decidedly choice, not only for later issues, but particularly for an offering recognized as a fleeting original issue by NGC.
