An extraordinarily rare date for this already highly popular 'Crookeston Dollar' type--so-called after an invented legend that Mary and Henry's courtship had taken place under the famous yew at Crookeston Castle--not least as it was the year of Henry's murder and Mary's execution under Elizabeth I. While moderately handled, the eye appeal is advanced for the type, displaying wholly covetable cabinet tone prominent in autumnal hues, and certainly worth of advanced consideration.
