SEYCHELLES. Government of Seychelles. 100 Rupees, 1.6.1975. P-18e.
The Government of Seychelles 1968-75 series is certainly one of the most sought after by collectors. The notes of all denominations are seen with striking color and detail with each showing a very popular portrait vignette of Queen Elizabeth II at right. This important 100 Rupees note marks the finest we have seen or handled for this coveted design type. The highest denomination of the series and a note which is likely missing in most collections in any Uncirculated state.
The technical quality of this rarity is striking with picture perfect centering and margins along with vivid original paper and inks which separate the note easily from others in the Uncirculated grade range. The note shows deep red color throughout the face and back designs and exhibits strong embossing of the inks. A quick look at the PMG population report shows that they have only graded a single note in a Superb Gem 67 grade with all dates considered and in all likelihood this note is the only PCGS 67 PPQ for the catalog number.
