QVÆ DEVS CONIVNXIT NEMO SEPARET, no stops in legend, square-topped and lightly garnished shield, 7h, m.m. thistle (FRC VIII/XV, lot 30; North 2120; Spink 2664), softly struck to forepart of horse, otherwise pastille-grey tone overlying residually lustrous fields, the reverse more darkly patinated with corresponding softness, otherwise an appealing very fine, in PCGS holder, graded XF45 (Cert. #81839043).
