KM# 181 (A&C# 1355) – 8 Reales (1811) Provisional de Nueva Vizcaya (Durango) RM. NGC VF-30 Emisión Realista precursora de las acuñaciones en el hoy estado de Durango la cual se denominó Moneda Provisional de Nueva Vizcaya acuñadas solamente en 1811. Por anverso el cospel se observa con defectos de laminación, en la periferia es identificable la leyenda • PR (de PROV) a las 9:00 y VEV • VIZCA de 2:00 a 5:00. Al centro se perciben los 2 lobos, el inferior parcialmente visible, el lobo superior y el ramal del árbol completo. Con lo que respecta a la corona, se observa su base, no así su parte superior la cual se pierde en la descuidada laminación del cospel. Con lo que respecta a las palmas que circundan estos elementos, es identificable aquella del lado derecho siendo de ramillete delgado, la izquierda prácticamente imperceptible. Los puntos altos y campos a pesar de su crudeza, presentan muy poca circulación. Por reverso el cospel se observa con vanos y líneas de ajuste en la mayor parte. En la periferia es identificable la leyenda SP• E IND • 8• R comenzando a las 7:00 y culminando a las 10:00. Al centro, el escudo de armas de España muy completo salvo la parte superior de la corona y la columna derecha. Con lo que respecta al canto, se conocen ejemplares de canto liso, estriado a lima y ciertos ejemplares que cuentan con la particularidad de ostentar un canto ornamentado por maquinaria y que es diverso al conocido como colonial de cuadros y círculos. El presente ejemplar ostenta dicho canto ornamentado el cual no se presenta en ninguna otra moneda mexicana. Dicho lo anterior, concluimos a este ejemplar en calidad de manufactura promedio y de conservación poco superior a lo habitual con canto destacado. De elementos centrales presentes y leyendas periféricas parciales. Dada la rareza del tipo y su popularidad, la presente constituye una oportunidad real en adquirir una pieza de este icónico tipo en el que su oferta es muchísimo menor al grupo de coleccionistas que la buscan incluir en sus monetarios

Royalist issue, precursor of the minting in the current state of Durango, which was called Provisional Coin of Nueva Vizcaya, minted only in 1811. On the obverse, the planchet shows lamination defects, on the periphery the legend • PR (from PROV) is identifiable. at 9:00 and VEV • VIZCA from 2:00 to 5:00. In the center the 2 wolves can be seen, the lower one partially visible, the upper wolf and the branch of the complete tree. With regard to the crown, its base is observed, but not its upper part, which is lost in the careless lamination of the planchet. With regard to the palms that surround these elements, the one on the right side is identifiable as it has a thin bouquet, while the left one is practically imperceptible. The high points and fields, despite their harshness, have very little circulation. On the reverse, the planchet is observed with openings and adjustment lines in most of it. The legend SP• E IND • 8• R starting at 7:00 and ending at 10:00 is identifiable on the periphery. In the center, the very complete coat of arms of Spain except for the upper part of the crown and the right column. With regard to the rim, there are known specimens with a plain, file-striated rim and certain specimens that have the peculiarity of displaying a rim ornamented by machinery and that is different from the one known as colonial of squares and circles. This copy bears said ornate rim, which is not found in any other Mexican coin. Having said the above, we conclude this specimen is in average manufacturing quality and slightly better than usual conservation with outstanding rim. Of present central elements and partial peripheral legends. Given the rarity of the type and its popularity, this is a real opportunity to acquire a piece of this iconic type in which its offer is much lower than the group of collectors who seek to include it in their collections
