AL GENERAL ZARAGOZA VENCEDOR EN PUEBLA. -EL PUEBLO DE MONTEVIDEO AGOSTO 15, 1862. XF Medalla emitida en homenaje al General Ignacio Zaragoza por haber vencido en la Batalla de Puebla del 05 de Mayo de 1862, otorgada por el Pueblo de Montevideo y grabada por J. Magisteretti F., italiano, residente en Montevideo. El quinto ejemplar del cual tenemos conocimiento, respecto a las demás se tienen los siguientes registros. Sírvase revisar a detalle el ejemplar ofertado en nuestra subasta #10 del 13 de Marzo de 2020, lote No. 174 vendido en $52,000.00 más comisión perteneciente a la Ex. colección de Andrés Lamas, quien fue un político, escritor, diplomático, historiador y coleccionista Uruguayo participe en la inauguración de la casa de Moneda de Montevideo. A diferencia de la anterior la presente se encuentra acuñada sobre un cospel aparentemente de estaño, 57 milímetros de diámetro y 99.9 gramos de peso, ligeras marquitas por ambas caras y golpecitos en canto. Sin duda una pieza de relevancia para aquellos coleccionistas avanzados en condecoraciones relativas a México

Medal issued in homage to General Ignacio Zaragoza for having won the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, awarded by the People of Montevideo and engraved by J. Magisteretti F., Italian, resident in Montevideo. The fifth specimen of which we are aware, with respect to the others, we have the following records. Please review in detail the piece offered in our auction #10 on March 13, 2020, lot No. 174 sold for $52,000.00 plus commission belonging to the former collection of Andrés Lamas, who was an Uruguayan politician, writer, diplomat, historian and collector, who participated in the inauguration of the Montevideo Mint. Unlike the previous one, the present one is minted on an apparently tin planchet, 57 millimeters in diameter and 99.9 grams in weight, with slight marks on both sides and small taps on the edge. Undoubtedly a piece of relevance for those advanced collectors in decorations related to Mexico.
