(t) CHINA--EMPIRE. Yuan Dynasty. 2 Kuan, ND (1264-1341). P-Unlisted. PCGS Banknote Choice Fine 15.
(S/M#C167-1). 20 coins on string at center. Bank name at top with flaming pearls flanking. The two vermillion colored stamps on the face are still present. A note that predates the famous Ming Dynasty notes by nearly 100 years. The Yuan Dynasty lasted from 1271 to 1368 (with Kublai Khan being the emperor in power during this notes circulation period from 1260-1294). This note is a miracle of survival and presents an excellent opportunity for the advanced collector of Chinese Paper Money to acquire this highly sought after piece. We have offered just a few examples of this denomination in our lengthy auction history, with the last one selling in our December 2021 Hong Kong auction for an astounding $60,000! PCGS Banknote comments "Stains."

Estimate: $25000 - $35000
